• Guiding successfully a TV hour documentary from a story idea to a deliverable film
• Mastering all writing tasks, creative and business, from proposal to securing finances
• Resourceful and persistent research to gather essentials for an engaging story
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and cooperation with all project participants
• Penetrating and compassionate interview skills, with authentic caring for the subjects
• Methodical organizational skills to schedule shooting and also negotiate the unexpected
• Rigorous in carrying out all legal licences and permissions, plus insurance requirements
• As film director, knowing how to lead yet, at same time on film shoots, be a team player
• As film director, in post-production, know when to heed wisdom of the offline editor
• Conduct myself throughout project with grace and acknowledgment for everyone's input
