Participant at many traditional Indigenous elders gatherings and also holistic healing workshops:

  • Attendee at many Indigenous gatherings to inform myself about the traditional ethos of Indigenous cultures and acquire deeper perspectives on contemporary issues;
  • Attendee at the Second Conference on Healing and the Creative Arts, at Simon Fraser University, 1996, a transformative moment to begin my own healing journey;
  • Trainee at a number of holistic workshops through the years, for example, facilitated by renown practitioners such as: Jeanne Achterberg, scientist, pioneer in mind/body studies and researcher on benefits of creative therapies for health and healing; and Marion Woodman, Jungian analyst, mythopoetic author and lecturer;
  • Participant in Mindfulness Meditation course at St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto, 2004, based on Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn's `mindfulness based stress reduction programme.'
